Daddy Photo Shoot
Dow is at home for the next 4 weeks, so he's had some extra time on his hands. Here is what happens when you leave a Daddy, a baby, and a camera home alone.

Sleepy Bear
Having a baby has completely shifted my focus in life. Now, instead of worrying about myself and Dow, I worry about little man, particularly his sleeping, eating, peeing and pooping habits. When Liam was born, and until he was about 6 weeks old, he was a great sleeper for a newborn. He would sleep 4-5 hours at a time. However, at about 6 weeks this changed. He started waking up more frequently during the night (I'm talking about every 1-2 hours) wanting to eat. It was exhausting, but I figured he would grow out of it. Babies hit a growth spurt around 6 weeks, and all they want to do during growth spurts is eat. I thought once this spurt was done, he'd return to is normal habits. Not so.
Then, we went to Bastrop for a week. At the time, letting Liam sleep with my parents in their king-sized bed seemed like a good idea. Liam was only waking up once during the night, and I was getting some much needed sleep while my mom took the night shift. Once we returned to Birmingham, I realized this Bastrop sleeping arrangement had been a really BAD idea. Liam no longer wanted to be in his crib. Put him in his crib, he screamed bloody murder. Put him in my bed, he went to sleep almost immediately. Let's just say we had some long nights since our Bastrop trip.
BUT..........................
Now he has slept through the night in his crib since Sunday! That is five entire nights of only waking up once around 5:30 or 6! Woohoo! I hope it lasts for a while. Once teething starts, which I am dreading by the way, I think we'll be back to those fussy nights.
Oh, the joys of parenthood!

Frowny Faces
Happy Two Months!
Today is my big boy's two month birthday! Happy Birthday, Liam! As you can see, he is definitely in the partying mood.

Unfortunately, today was also my first day back at work full time. It's amazing how these past nine weeks have flown. Don't get me wrong, I really like my job. It was just hard to leave this face.

Two Month Check Up
We had out two month check up today. Liam weighs 11 lbs and is about 23 inches long. He's right on track with his growing, gaining 3 lbs since our last appointment.
Liam has been spitting up a LOT lately. I mean every time he eats and even when he isn't eating. Generally, it's not a lot, more like drool coming out with a hiccup. But last night, and several other times, he has vomited his entire bottle on us. It's all over him, all of me or Dow (usually Dow...I think he just likes me better), and all over whatever furniture or bedding is within a 2 foot radius. I talked to Dr. Simpson about it today, and Liam is most likely overeating. I wonder where he got that from? We are going to limit his food, switch him to a thicker formula so he will feel fuller with less formula, and try to keep him as upright as possible. I hope this works!
On a sadder note, Liam had his first shots today. They gave him 4 in his thighs. Poor baby :( He seems to be fine now. I hope they don't make him feel too terrible.

Labor Day
I realize that I am blogging about Labor Day weekend a little after the fact, but I've just really been able to sit down and work on my blog. I've literally been out of town the past two weeks.
Labor Day weekend was a blast. We went to Auburn, and Cheryl kept Liam all day on Saturday. Dow and I went to the game for a little "adult" time. We tailgated, shopped downtown (and Dow didn't even whine about shopping), and had really great seats for the game (40 yard line, row 15). We also WON! Maybe Chizik won't be so bad after all?

Sip-n-See
Photo Shoot
Among the many adventures we have had these past two weeks (more fully explained in coming posts), Liam had his first portraits done. They turned out great! I forgot to bring a diaper cover for him (mainly because I couldn't find one in his size), so his pampers show alot. I'm not thrilled with the diaper showing at all, but luckily our photographer, Lamar, can white this out to make it look like he has a diaper cover on. Lamar can also do some neat things with the shading and lighting of the photos.
Check out his blog with Liam on it! http://pblamar.tripod.com/lamarstyle_blog/
For example, picture #5 on his blog is one of my favorites, but that is not how the picture actually looks in the proofs. The picture in the proofs is in color, and I'm in it. Amazing what you can do with pictures!
Liam is also going to be in on of Lamar's ads in Delta Style, a local magazine. His first modeling job! Haha!! I'm so proud!

Lunch Date
Yesterday I had lunch with my friend, Molly, and her beautiful baby boy, Ivey. Ivey was born just 11 days before Liam.
In an effort to get the friendship started, they lunched with us. Their lunching consisted of sleeping and/or looking around. They also telepathically decided to start crying at the same time, cuing us to leave before the really dirty looks started.
But before we did, we got some pictures!

And yes, Ivey towers over Liam!
