Bustin' Loose.

Liam is trying to break Otis from the slammer (i.e., kennel).

On another note, Liam has on my favorite pants in these pictures. I'm not a really big "pants on a baby" person, but I loved these, mainly because they were a good quality and footed.

So, of course being the chilly day that it is today, I put Liam in these pants. And, what did he do? He tore a giant hole in the left foot! What am I going to do with this baby?!? Good thing it is warming up. I'm still sad about the pants, though...

Pearly Whites.

Liam has his first tooth!

I spotted it last night after dinner. It's just barely out of his gums, so I can't get a picture. But, he's officially on his way to having a full-fledged tooth!

Yay!

Kicks.

Liam got his very first big boy "kicks" today. I bought him some adorable Mooshu sandals for the upcoming warm weather. They come with a squeaker in the sole (which can be removed, thank God). Now, I can track Liam by listening for the squeaks!

To give you some size perspective.

Unfortunately, Sikes did not have the Keds that I wanted in Liam's size. Actually, it is hard to find any "real" shoes (i.e., not soft baby shoes) that will fit Liam. So, I'm going to try Little Soles in Cahaba Heights next Saturday. I just don't have it left in me today to do any more children's shoe shopping. Those stores are likes zoos!

Time for a nap.

Moving On Up.

Liam has moved on up to big boy baths!

Liam loves his baths. For the longest time, we'd put him in the tub either on his back or in his bath seat, and he'd just kick away. It was adorable.

Now, he's finally able to sit up in the tub without falling over!

Now, bathtime isn't only for cleaning, but it's for playing.

Liam loves to:

Play with the faucet and eat bubbles.

I'm so glad he can entertain himself in the bathtub now. I can finally eat dinner at a reasonable hour!

Heap of Trouble.

I'm in a heap of trouble. My child is trying to walk. Actually, Liam is walking with assitance already. I'm not prepared for this!

Liam enjoys crawling, but he has a hard time getting traction on our hardwood floors. I've tried to encourage crawling. In fact, I'm paranoid that he won't spend the appropriate amount of time crawling and, as a result, he'll end up being an unintelligent weird-o who makes sock puppets for the rest of his life. Part of this paranoia is stemming from my mother telling me that crawling is important for Liam's proper development. Of course, I want him to develop "properly" (whatever that means), but how do I force a child to crawl without discouraging his efforts to walk at the same time?!?

I've decided to just let it go. If he wants to crawl, he'll crawl. If he wants to walk, he'll walk. Either way, he should develop at his own pace, not mine.

So, here he is today walking behind his lion.

On another note, ever since Liam has learned to move on his own, he's become an escape artist. Here he is trying to escape from his bouncy chair while I was getting dressed one morning. He didn't get very far, but he sure was trying!

Bad To The Bone.

Liam has never been shy when it comes to doing things on his own. He rolled over early. He sat up early. He held his bottle early.

Now, he is pulling himself up on objects and standing. How did he go from immobile baby to rootin', tootin', scootin' all over the house?!?

Here he is STANDING in his crib! Please pray for us.

Just The Two Of Us.

Now that the stomach bug has finally left our house (praise Jesus), I'm back to blogging.

This weekend, Liam and I have had 48 straight hours of mommy and baby time. It's been quite fun. I love spending some good quality time with my little man.

We chewed on our toes (well, I didn't, but Liam did).

We cut coupons.

We took silly pictures. (On a sidenote, please excuse my grossness. No plans = no shower for me.)

And we got into everything we weren't supposed to get into. (Excuse the background noise. I was watching Dateline. I do love my true crime shows.)
