This Weekend's Mission

Today, Mom and Coo-Coo arrive (hopefully before midnight since they are the slowest drivers ever)! We have a list of things to do this weekend to get ready for Liam's arrival:

1. Get nursery fabric

2. Go to Babies-R-Us (UGH! Saturdays are the worst there!)

3. Get a fan for the nursery

4. Get a crib

5. Get a changing table/dresser

6. Get a rug

7. Get some nursery decor (pictures/stuffed animals)

8. Pick out a glider (since Dow says he really wants one)

9. Find a cute maternity suit

10. Pick out a "going home" daygown

All these things are hopefully leading up to this (with some variations since we don't have wallpaper or beautiful baseboards):

Wish me luck!!

Tummy Time

By popular demand, here is the latest picture of my tummy at 22 weeks (5 1/2 months). Week 24 will mark the start of month 6. Liam will be here before we know it!
Mom and Coo Coo are coming to Birmingham this weekend to go crib/fabric/nursery decor shopping. I'm really excited!!

Karate

It was only a matter of time......Liam's early swirls have turned into karate kicks and punches. I felt the first "major" one this week, and it was so startling (and strong) that I had to sit down. Now, early in the morning and between about 5 and 7 in the evening, I feel constant karate moves. Depending on his position, it either feels like pleasant little bubbles or good hard thumps. Maybe Liam is just making sure I haven't forgotten about him! In any event, if he keeps this up, I'm in for a long and bumpy (literally) ride until July!

Half Way

This week marks the 20th week of my pregnancy. I'm half way there! So far, the changes this month (month 5) have been pretty minimal. My tummy is still expanding, and I'm still feeling the swirling movement as Liam tosses and turns. Soon, however, it will be full fledged kicks and punches! I move a little slower, and I'm still pretty tired at night (but what's new?). Other than that, things have been going pretty smoothly. I'm going to enjoy this while I can because the third trimester sounds pretty annoying (fat feet, super tired again, and all the other wonderful symptoms that come along with having a full grown baby inside you).

It's a BOY!!!!!!!!!

Can't you tell? I've been trying to figure out how to change my blog background since last Tuesday when we found out! I realized that I actually had to remove my HTML layout code before I added a new one, so now that I've figured that out, we're good to go.

Last Tuesday, Baby Nugget officially became a little boy (William Dow Sport Jr., but please don't call him Junior, call him Liam)! We are SO very excited! Dow and I (and the majority of our friends and family) were convinced it was a girl as so many of our friends and family (literally all) have had little boys. We were thinking, statistically, the odds were in favor of a little girl. But, things definitely changed Tuesday when the ultrasound clearly showed we were having a little boy. Now, my room is filling up with blue baby gear, and I couldn't be happier!

Once I figure out how to upload the ultrasound video, I'll be sure to post it. It (and pregnancy in general) is really pretty amazing.

Back to Blogging!

Yes, I KNOW I've been blog absent for the past few weeks, mainly because I'm blog-design illiterate. My inability to change my background upon hearing our goods news was really frustrating me, but I just can't wait any longer to update. We've had so many exciting pregnancy milestones happen in the past few weeks. So............

It Snowed!!!

Today we woke up to a massive snowfall in Birmingham. It was beautiful! Dow, Otis and I played outside and built the best snowman in the neighborhood. Aubie watched us from the house like we were idiots for ever being outside in the snow. Speaking of Aubie, all I can hear right now are horrible howls from her as she is getting a very overdue bath from Dow. Poor Aubs.

Here are some pictures from our snow adventure!

This is Otis looking very pitiful after he was forced to go outside.

Our snowman kicked butt! People were stopping in amazement.
