Sick.

Both Dow and Liam have been sick this weekend. I had baby duty all day Sunday from 4:30 a.m. until 7:45 Monday morning. During that time, Liam projectile vomited on me 6 times, two of which were in his crib. When he sneezed, he had explosive diarrhea that shot out the sides of his diaper (on me) and up the back of his diaper onto his neck and the back of his head. He had 8 baths (two were just to calm him down) and has gone through 6 changes of clothes. I went through three. I can handle a little baby puke but not poop. No sir. I've washed 3 loads of pukey/poopy baby laundry and all of our bedding. Because Dow as sick, I was up with him Friday night, Saturday night and last night, and I woke up with him each morning at 4:45. Being tired is an understatement.

But, through all that, I managed to keep my patience and clean up puke and poop with a smile. Why? Because I'm lucky to have such a wonderful, sweet baby. I love him dearly, even more when he doesn't feel good. Here's why:

He always makes getting dressed in the morning an adventure. Notice how he is squirting water through his left fist and holding my eyeliner with his baby death grip in his right fist.

He is very concerned with keeping in touch with his friends and family. He never drops his Blackberry, even while watching Yo Gabba Gabba (which is the weirdest children's show on the planet, but that's another blog post altogether).

He loves to just hang. Here he is after a trip to the neighborhood coffee shop.

Get better soon, boys. I don't like it when you are sick, and I don't like it when I miss my Zzzs.

Could This Be More Rehearsed?

http://www.timesoftheinternet.com/absolutely-fabulous/tiger-woods-apologizes-at-news-conference-video-to-elin-and-all/

I really think he is actually counting 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi as he stares into the camera.

Jerk.

Smashing Taters.

Taters on your face,
Taters on your face,
Looking like a fool with taters on your face.

If any of my sparse readers are American Idol fans, you will understand that reference to recent pop culture history.

Liam was given his first "real people" food last night. His enthusiasm over his baby food had steadily dwindled. He'll take his bottle any day over fruit and cereal. But, last night, we put him in his big boy highchair with us at the table and put some mashed potatos on his tray.

Let's just say, Liam loved some mashed potatoes. He would pick them up in big scoops and cram them into his mouth (and ears and hair and lap). But, the point is, he ate them willingly and we got to eat in peace. It was a good (but messy) night.

Baby's First Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This year, it's a laid back day for us. After a "no gift" agreement", Dow surprised me with beautiful hydrangeas and roses. (Kudos, Whole Foods, for even having flowers in stock on actual Valentine's Day!)

All Dow got from me was a card. But, this morning (before I even knew he was bringing me flowers), I did make him baked ziti and brownies. So, the thought was there.

Cupid, however, brought Liam some sweet gifts. Liam has especially enjoyed chewing on his cards from Mommy and Daddy, Emme and Poppi and Uncle Robert and Aunt Heather. He also loved ripping up the tissue paper in his gift from Grandma and Grandpa (as well as the books). Let's just say Liam has got some good books to read tonight, a balloon to chase around the den and a teddy bear to snuggle with. What else could a baby ask for?

I prefer to eat, not read, my cards.

Adorable.

XOXO~

Snow Day.

It's beautiful here. Snow is everywhere. But, I have no husband, no baby and no dog here. It's just me and Aubie.

I'm a little lonely.

Come home boys!

I miss you.

Can you believe my mother taking my sweet baby outside in the snow with NO HAT OR COAT!?!

Kindermusik.

I enrolled Liam in Kindermusik at The Pink House, which is a baby music class. I have to say that I was a little skeptical at first, but it really has been so fun. Liam loves the music, the dancing, the singing and the activities. I think he also enjoys interacting with other babies since he is out of "school" now.

I'm really glad I decided to make a fool of myself for one hour every Saturday for the next eight weeks!

Here is a link about Kindermusik at The Pink House. I highly recommend it!

Apocalyspe.

My mom believes that when the Saints win the Superbowl, the world is going to end. But, since the apocalypse has yet to come, I figured I would update my blog.

Last week was just one of those weeks. Busy, long, crazy. Dow and I did get to sneak some time in for ourselves. Liam is in Louisiana with my parents (being spoiled rotten, I'm sure). Dow and I decided to venture into The Rare Martini on Saturday, and let's just say Sunday was a very long day for both of us.

Liam did win his first Superbowl bet though (and I will just ignore the fact that this was only because my parents had him out partying and gambling until 9:00). Emme breaks all the rules on his very first night with them! Geez...what is a girl to do? But, then again, the Saints were in the Superbowl, so who cares! And now Liam has $7 more towards his college fund!
