Phew! What a week!
Dow and I returned from an anniversary weekend in New Orleans last Sunday. We had a great time and ate everything in sight. We also stayed at a beautiful hotel, Le Pavillon, and spent most of our Saturday afternoon in the rooftop pool.

(Please ignore my gross face. It was literally 103 degrees outside).

Friday night we had a particularly great meal at Upperline. I had everything from turtle to fois gras to lamb to oysters. YUM!

This was Liam's gift. I was sold just by reading the title.

We also got to see Rebecca, Patrick, and DRUMROLL ... BABY WILLIAM! YAY! I am so happy I got to see him because this might have been my only chance for a while. He was a very sweet and loving baby. It made me wonder where the time has gone with my baby, who is running around our house as we speak desperately trying to catch Otis.
I mean, how cute is this baby?

William can even write his own name at four months old! I was very impressed.

This weekend our sweet friends were kind enough to give us box tickets to the Birmingham Baron's game, Birmingham's AAA minor league baseball team. Watching the game in air conditioning with free food and beer was pretty fun. They also had a surprisingly beautiful fireworks show after the game, which made my night.
Well, I take that back. Liam's encounter with Babe Woof, the Baron's mascot, actually made my night.
Woof came to visit us at our suite, and, from a distance, Liam was excited to see Woof.

But, that
QUICKLY changed to sheer terror. Liam even gave him the Heisman to the face. Sorry, Woof.

I am pretty sure I will show this picture to all of his future girlfriends, unless I can top it with a crazy crying Santa picture this year. We shall see...
